Application

The TQD-01 Air Permeance Tester is designed to measure the air permeance of paper and board within the medium air permeance range, utilizing the Schopper method. This method is applicable to materials with air permeances ranging from 1×10⁻² to 1×10² μm/(Pa·s). However, it is not suitable for rough-textured papers and boards, such as creped or corrugated types, as these cannot be securely clamped, leading to potential leakage. Additionally, the TQD-01 can be used for various materials, including cement bag paper, paper bag paper, cable paper, copy paper, and industrial filter paper.

Air Permeance
Air permeance refers to the average flow of air through a unit area under a unit pressure difference, measured over a unit of time under specific conditions. It is expressed as micrometres per pascal second [1 μm/(Pa·s) = 1 mL/(m²·Pa·s)].

Test Principle

The test involves clamping a sample between two airtight circular gaskets of known dimensions. One side of the sample is exposed to atmospheric pressure, while a small and steady pressure difference is maintained between the two sides during the test. The flow of air passing through the sample is measured over a defined period.

This tester complies with several standards, including ISO 5636-2, ISO 5636-3, ISO 5636-5, GB/T 458, and QB/1667.
