Application

The TST-H Horizontal Tensile Tester is a constant-rate-of-elongation device designed to measure the tensile properties of materials such as paper, paperboard, tissue paper, and tissue products. It determines key metrics such as tensile strength, stretch at maximum force, tensile energy absorption, and tensile stiffness. Additionally, the tester can calculate the tensile index and tensile energy absorption index.

Test Principle

A sample of specific dimensions is subjected to a stretching force at a constant elongation rate using the TST-H Horizontal Tensile Tester. The device measures and logs the tensile force as the sample elongates until it breaks. Based on the collected data, calculations are made for tensile strength, stretch at maximum force, and tensile energy absorption.
